New easy-access gates installed

Four new gates have been installed on the footpath from Mead Lane to Landmarks, replacing the old stiles.  The gates were installed by Mendip Ramblers on behalf of Somerset County Council after the Parish Council received several complaints that the old stiles were difficult to get over, and one had completely rotted away.  The new gates are galvanised metal, and self-closing.

The footpath continues past Landmarks and on up to Postlebury Hill from where both Trudoxhill and Cloford can be reached.  There are already several other gates installed beyond these new ones so the whole route is now much more accessible.
